It's time to meet your match!
Enjoy co-ed pickleball indoors, all skill levels welcome. No actual pickles are used!
Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a whiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications. Pickleball was invented in the mid 1960s as a children’s backyard pastime but quickly became popular among adults as a fun game for players of all levels.

Recommended Rotation for Drop-In Play
- During Drop-In play, if both courts are full (and there are fewer than four players waiting to play), those waiting should follow this procedure:
- Place your paddle in a queue, from left to right in the order that you arrived. New arrivals, place your paddle at the end of the line on the right.
- When a game is finished, rotate in as described below:
- If only 1 player is waiting, two winners remain on the court but split up for the next game.
- If 2-6 players are waiting, 2 go in and 2 come out. Winners remain on the court but split up.
- When there are 2 or more players waiting, no one may play more than 2 games in a row. Those players go out and are replaced with those next in line.
- If 7 or more players are waiting, 4 go in and 4 come out. Games may also be played to 9 (first team to 9) to allow a faster rotation.

More About Pickleball
The Basics
- Combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
- Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.
- Played with a paddle and a plastic ball.
The Court
A pickleball court is the same size as a doubles badminton court and measures 20×44 feet. In pickleball, the same court is used for both singles and doubles play. The net height is 36 inches at the sidelines and 34 inches in the middle. The court is striped similar to a tennis court with right and left service courts and a 7-foot non-volley zone in front of the net (referred to as the “kitchen”). Courts can be constructed specifically for pickleball or they can be converted using existing tennis or badminton courts.
Equipment
When playing pickleball, each player will need a pickleball paddle, which is smaller than a tennis racquet but larger than a ping-pong paddle. Originally, paddles were made only from wood, however today’s paddles have evolved dramatically and are primarily made of lightweight composite materials, including aluminum and graphite. Players will also need a net and a pickleball. The ball itself is unique, with holes through it like a wiffleball and there are different ball models intended for indoor and outdoor play. The ball travels at 1/3 the speed of a tennis ball and is usually white or yellow in color. New bright color balls are also gaining in popularity.
